Hi everyone! I made a small video to mark my 8 month anniversary on hormones, which isn’t actually until October 10, but I’ll be on vacation in England then!!
As with the 6 month video update, there’s nothing super exciting here but if you watch it all the way through you just might see me wearing a giant fuzzy bear hat
Also, I’m not sure if I mentioned this on the blog or not, but my girlfriend and I worked the merch booth at Folsom Street Fair (a huge kink/leather/fetish block party) two weeks ago, which is a always an “Only in San Francisco” experience! I had a blast and it was interesting being in such a sexualized environment in which I was nearly invisible as a girl (at least 75% percent of the attendees were gay men). The same older couple that would say things like “oh, you’re just so adorable!” to me would then turn to my guy friend and bark orders (in a very explicit manner) for him to pull down his underwear for them! Anyways, here’s a cute picture from that day!
Oh! I almost forgot to mention- Sebastian and I wrote an article for Autostraddle about the new WPATCH Standards of Care for trans* people (although most of the credit goes to him on this one)!
Bisous à tous!!

Hey Annika! I love your writing on Autostraddle and find your blog really inspiring – I’m about to start HRT so it’s really lovely to hear about your experience over the past few months. And as a Londoner may I wish you a warm welcome to our great city, we’re in the middle of an October heatwave at the moment so I hope you have a lovely time here! Sophie xx
First, You are so precious! I love watching your vlogs and reading about the events you attend!
and hearing about your journey.
It’s interesting to hear whenever you mention the difference in your comfort level with attention from guys as your transition progresses. I identify vaguely as non-binary gender and one of the things I had the hardest time explaining to my boyfriend who just could NOT understand, was that, without my breasts (I wear binders when I dress like a guy) and when I look a little more androgynous, I feel more sexually confident and moreover SO MUCH MORE CALM about my surroundings. Some men I have spoken to really have no inkling of the difference it makes to be looked at by a guy as a guy and to be looked as a girl by a guy. I feel that they are two very different things so often and yet, it’s so difficult to explain in relate-able terms to the few guys I have tried to.
Hi discovering your blog. it’s a fresh style you publish there… and you are so cute ! luv this. Natacha xx
Hi! thanks for your courageous blog!!!! I am writing a blog post for cannonball about being lesbian and dealing with the male gaze, and I came upon your article. solidarity! also, it was really valuable to hear your insight about your experiences before and after transitioning. Anyway, congratulations on your courageousness! -Rachel Wood
